First man on moon Neil Armstrong dead at 82
(Reuters) - U.S. astronaut Neil Armstrong, who took a giant leap for
mankind when he became the first person to walk on the moon, has died at
the age of 82, his family said on Saturday. Armstrong died following complications from heart-bypass surgery he
underwent earlier this month, the family said in a statement, just two
days after his birthday on August 5.

據美國全國廣播公司（NBC）報道，他的家人報告稱死亡時間是當日下午2時45分。一份聲明中說，他死于心血管手術引起的並發癥。
阿姆斯特朗1930年8月5日生于美國俄亥俄州的沃帕科內塔。1955年，他加入美國太空總署，成為一名非軍職的高速試飛員。1962年9月17日，他獲
選為第二批的九名受訓的宇航員之一，他也是第一位非軍職的宇航員。1966年3月16日，他做為「雙子星8號」的正駕駛，進行了首次太空飛行。1969年
7月16日他成為「阿波羅11號」指揮官。
1969年7月20日，阿姆斯特朗成為登月第一人。
