I am curious as to how much Japanese does the folks here know? For myself I worked in Tokyo for a year in the 90's. I never got formal lessons but learned to recognize all the katakana and hiragana. So I can figure out alll the foreign words and together with the Kanji's I can figure 90% of the stuff in menus and order food. :-) How about you guys?

曾經學過日文但太久沒用過，不少已經忘記了。

現在只是懂得平假和片假的音和一部分基本文法吧。

常看日本的動畫及日劇所以會說幾句基本的日語之前也有學過片假名等基礎的東西
